Our company has two very different manufacturing processes and they are controlled by different people in different departments. In one set of departments we make made-to-order products for the government and in the other set we build to stock for the civilian market.
The products are different, the inventory to make the products is different, and the Production Planning and Manufacturing departments are different.
We have figured out how to manage the inventory by creating sites for each of the stock rooms that feed each of the manufacturing processes which should work fine.
Now we are struggling with how to handle Manufacturing planning and production with the two departments. Is there any facility to be able to limit a user to scheduling for a specific set of products or site? Ideally we want the Made-to-order planners to only see their items and schedules and vice versa for the Made-to-stock planners and production people.
Any input is welcome. Thanks in advance,
Glenn Sullivan

I have the same question (0)I have not run across the specific needs you state, and out of the box, there is nothing to accomplish what you would like to do. Are you assigning planners on the Item Resource Planning Window? In MRP windows and in the Item Resource Planning window, you can view by planner. You would have to build it into your business processes. To actually restrict it, you would have to do a custom.
