How does the GOTO feature in Smartlist designer work?

I have a Smartlist I created in designer to identify the employees who have 401K deductions but the Pension checkbox is not check. I want to make a goto that goes to the employee tax maintenance screen. I don't see an option to choose a GP window only a Smartlist, navigation list or web page.

You are looking for the 'Open Form' Option on the Add Drop-down in SmartList Builder.

You want to Open the Window (Form) and move the focus to the Employee ID Field, set value and run script. This will not only open the window, it will bring up the employee record for the SmartList record they are browsing.

I'm not using Smartlist Builder I am using Smartlist designer. I don't see the options you detail.....

I have not seen this same functionality in SmartList designer. I can find no menu options to indicate GOTO links are include in designer. I am a big fan of SmartList Builder from eOne Solutions - the instructions I provided above of for the SmartList Builder tool. Sorry

The smart list designer was introduced in GP 2013 SP2, while the "Go To" feature was introduced in GP 2013 R2, here is a detailed reference for this feature and how to use it

Unfortunately, the Go Tos in SmartList designer (introduced in GP 2013 R2) do not allow you to configure a Go To a GP form; only a SmartList, Navigation List or a web page.

I must say this is disappointing. Most if not all of the Smartlist I create in designer are from scratch and not copied from an existing Smartlist. Most of the time it is so I can control the order of the columns. That being said..... we can create a shortcut on the home page to any window in GP but can not create a goto for a window in Smartlist. Seems short sighted to me.

Brenda,

This is very disappointing, I agree. This is just one of the many reasons why SmartList Builder is a far superior product to SmartList Designer. SmartList Designer is a great idea, but for the true functionality we need, you really need SmartList Builder. If you had it before, renew your license.

Actually, it is possible to do it. Just select an existing smartlist, then add your view and the goto options will fill with oob options!!
