Entity Audit Stopped for no reason

Hi All,

I am seeing the event 'Entity Audit Stopped' in our systems, but we never tried to do that, it's happening regularly across different server and different orgs. Audit History is also not showing new values, a broken symbol is appearing in the new values. I could not find much help for the resources available.

Thanks

Drew

Is global auditing on the organization enabled?

    Agree with Abed,

Settings>Administration>System Settings>Auditing> check to see that Start Auditing has a tick, click OK

It sounds as if someone has switched it off at the global level.

    Drew,

You need to check the status of current Audit is that off or on?

Did you during that time imported any solution?

And also check your disk space

    Hi Alieen,

Current Audit is on. However the link you provided made me check audit summary. I see one user turned the audit off and on. It might have caused error in old audit values.  But the audit is frequently being turned off and on, If I checked the audit summary on one of the record. Is there a possibility for any other process taking control of the setting audit on and off??

    Thanks

    Drew

    Hi Drew,

    Have you been importing solutions?

By default all of the main entity settings (or Metadata) are exported when a Managed Solution is created.  These are basically the checkboxes that can be selected on the entity's customisation page.

Some of these important settings are:

    •Auditing required

•Showing the entity in Mobile Express

•Whether the entity supports queues and whether records should automatically be moved into the owner's queue when created or assigned

    •Duplicate Detection

If you don't sort that out you will lose historical audit data.

    Hi,

Any resolution to this? This happened to me in case of an Unmanaged Solution and not Managed.

I don't know how to get the New Values back which were recorded earlier.

    Thanks in advance.

I am seeing the same thing in my system and it saying I'm the one that stopped entity audit, which I didn't.  I checked my notes and what I was doing at the time it said I disabled Auditing was adding fields to the entities in question, so now I'm thinking, this must happen every time you publish customizations just for that entity alone, it may not happen when publishing all customizations.  This, of course, makes no sense.  This must be a symptom of a problem in the system.

Apparently when ever we make changes(like adding new fields) to the entity and deploy those. The audit will  be switched off and on during the deployment process. The old records are still available in the database but show up as broken values, created a ticket with Microsoft. They will run some sort of scripts in the back-end to fix the broken values.

    Thanks

    Drew
