If I set a filter on the Quick Find View to exclude Inactive records, the Search Results still show Inactive records.

I think I figured it out. I checked the 'Find columns' and nothing was set!
Once I selected Full name, it applied the filter. Now I'll have to go through and check all entities and make sure at least one Find column is set. Very strange!
This could be something Alex. While the SDK message doesn't specifically say RetrieveMultiple, there is a Retrieve message on ALL Primary Object Type Code. Not being a programmer myself I have no idea what function this message performs. I could try Deactivating it I suppose and see what effect it has.
Thanks Ravi. Unfortunately this didn't fix it.
I also just discovered that it is not limited to Contacts. Seems to be across all entities. In addition, it is affecting the Lookup View as well when performing a lookup in a lookup field.
Not good.
If a developer is involved:), it will likely be a RetrieveMultiple plugin on the contact entity.. see if you can find it in the customizations area (it's a different entity on the screenshot below):
Hi Joe,
Can you try resetting the filters? I mean remove the filters completely, save & publish. Then again change the filter to something else and see it it is working..if it works then change it back to status = active.
Worth a try!
Kylie,
I don't really know exactly when this started. We do have a developer doing some customizations for us (specifically regarding the Contact entity) and I fear that it may be related.
Interesting. When was this change made?
Was it working previously and stopped working at some point?
If this is a new change - were customizations published after?
Thanks!
Hi Kylie,
It is the Quick Find View and I have the filter set to only show Active.
And as you can see I am getting Inactive records in my Results.
There are a few different views in play in this scenario so there could be some confusion there. Just using "Accounts" as an example but it could be any entity
- Default Public View / All Accounts View - displays when you navigate to the Accounts area
- Quick Find View - Displays when you search in the Accounts area (in your case, inactive should not be displayed). This is also the logic used if this entity is included in Global Search
- Lookup View - displays when you search within a lookup record. This means different results could be displayed than when using the quick find from the main accounts list
- Advanced Find View - default Advanced Find search for that entity
Where are you seeing the inactive records still included?
