Viewing attachments on 'Activities'

Within a test account in my CRM 2013 i am able to see 'set regarding' tracked emails on the 'activities' tab of the associated account.  It shows the email that is being tracked and displays the message 'The email below might contain script or content that is potentially harmful and has been blocked'.

I have tracked five emails all with different attachments and they all show this message. (there does not appear to be a method of getting rid of this other than using a java script).

When I view the activities and the emails on it, there does not appear to be a way to view the attachment unless I click the e-mail button and then drill down to the attachment.  Is this correct?  Surely I should be able to click on the attachment direct from the activities screen?

You can not show the attachment into the view, what you can only do is add the Text Url fields into the entity, which can store a web link to the attachment notes record i.e. last attachment link so oncliking the click system will open the attachment record (you can create a workflow that will trigger on the Annotation recorc Create and update the regading entity last attachment field hyper link value). or you can add a ribbon button into the entity Grid View and on click of button can show the list of attachments related to the record by developing a report or html 5 app (that can have a hyperlink to the orginal attachment)

If you have multiple attachments, this will only work with custom html webresource.

Thanks for coming back to me Deepesh.

All sounds a little complicated!... are you able to point me in the direction of a guide of some sorts?

A Url field would not be able open the attachment directly - but rather the attachment record that would then contain another link to download the attachment: e.g.

    /Activities/Attachment/edit.aspx?cw=False&id=<GUID>

To open the attachment directly from a url you would need to append the WRPCToken to the url:

    Activities/Attachment/download.aspx?AttachmentType=1001&AttachmentId=<GUID>&CRMWRPCToken=<token>

    See social.microsoft.com/.../how-do-i-download-an-attachment-from-an-annotation-using-clientside-jscript-crm-2011

I would say it would be too complicated to implement this functionality directly from a list of activities compared to the benefits that it would provide. I think you just need to chalk this down to a product limitation - you could raise a suggestion at connect.microsoft.com
