We are considering implementing CRM Online for customer relations but I was also wondering if there is a mass notification feature in CRM Online (something comparable to Everbridge)?

Not out of the box one...
For the mass notification, you can either consider the powerful one like Clickdimension, Dynamics Marketing, or you need to create your own notification.
