What happens to the contacts that are already in a RTM journey, when I update the journey?

What happens to all the contacts which are currently in an older version of a RTM journey? For example I updated this journey and now there are still 12 people left in Version 2. Will they be taken over to Version 3?

    Hi, 
     
    contacts that are in version 2 will not be taken over to version 3. They will complete the version 2. Only new contacts that are newly added to the journey start the version 3. 
    Unfortunately I haven't found a solution how to take contacts from version 2 over to version 3 mid-journey.
