Mobile Device Errors

Has anyone run into the error “Invalid work execute mode.” When using a mobile device to receive a PO?

I am working on cleaning up the scanner menu items and simplifying them. Item Menu Items work in the production environment. So, before I make changes in the production environment, I am working in the sandbox to avoid interrupting production. I also want to make sure all changes work systematically and physically before making changes in the production.

The Receiving process with the scanner is not working in the sandbox.

My receiving process with the scanner prints the License plate automatically during the receiving process and moves the Item to the Receiving location. Then, it moves it to a Decision location automatically.
I am getting the error “invalid work execution mode.” After confirmation of the values.
 
The process flow is this.
  • Scan the PO.
  • Scan the Item.
  • Enter the quantity.
  • Check values, then confirm.
Then I get this error.
 

I have tried several different PO in the sandbox to make sure it was not in issue with the purchase order. I get the same error every time. I have also deleted the menu Item out of the sandbox and set it up the same way it is in Production. I am still getting the error.
 
I have found very little on the web about this error (I find nothing).

    For any flows that were implemented before version 8.1.3, where the customer is already live and has multiple mobile device menu items created that are relying on Process Guide, those will stop working, with an error "Invalid Work Execute Mode".

    Mitigation

    The very simple mitigation for the issue is to simply go and enable the check-box to use process guide on the mobile device menu item.

    Thank you for helping me with this problem. I will check this out and try to make it happen. Hopefully, I will be able to accomplish this and gain a better understanding of the how and why. Again, thank you for the response. I just now followed you on LinkedIn.
