ADFS Session Timeout

Hi,

We are using MS CRM 2011 with ADFS 2.0.

We have set the token timeout to 4 hours. But the system timeout exactly after 4 hours even if there is activity in the system. The system should timeout only if there is no activity continuously for 4 hours right?

Is there any configuration for inactivity token timeout.

Thanks,

    Hi Jayakumar,

The AD FS token expires based on the Token Lifetime since the time it was generated, not last used.

To extend it you can run some powershell commands. Refer to here or here for more details.

    Good luck.

Thanks. I know we can extend the timeout. But it is fixed. I need the timeout based on no activity. If the user is still using the system them timeout should not happen.

The token lifetime only applies based on when the token was generated, rather than when it was last used. I'm not aware of any means to extend it based on activity; it may be worth asking in the ADFS forums if there is any means to do this, as any solution would be in ADFS, rather than CRM
