Hi,

our users often access the audit log of entities to assess how an entity as changed. Business process flow phase changes are shown as GUIDs:

Is there a way to display the name of the corresponding phase in the audit log?

Thank you,

Felix

    Hi Felix,

It looks like your field phasen-ID actualy stores the guid values and is not a standard lookup field. With standard lookup field, you do get the record name instead of guid. See screenshot below (field Contact)

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Jan,

Auditing only applies to the record being audited, meaning you will not be able to show details relating to other associated entity records (Like the process stage entity).

That being said, the only fields available to view via auditing is the process ID (which Business Process Flow is being used, identified via the ID) and the stage the process is currently on (being identified via the ID of the stage).

The only possible way to display the name of the stage and business process flow is to set fields that capture the stage and process flow name based on the ID's in these fields. However, this solution is only temporary as these two fields are being deprecated: blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/.../how-to-determine-which-business-process-flow-bpf-instance-is-shown-when-a-record-is-opened-2

The solution I would like to offer then is to follow the following blog post by Raghu Devisetty: dynamicscrmcoe.com/using-custom-fields-store-business-process-stage  and then set the new custom fields to be audited.
