AX RTW Update1 access issue on local VM ??

Hi All,

I am running local VM to access AX RTW. I am getting lot of issues there.

I have a perfectly working internet connection in VM. My company uses proxy to access internet, so there is a proxy setup that cannot be bypassed.

Now the issues:

1. When trying to open a URL  https://usnconeboxax1aos.cloud.onebox.dynamics.com/ getting a connection issue

This page can’t be displayed

Fix connection problems

2. When running Admin provisioning tool, entering my Office365 ID(which I use to access AX deployed on Azure), on pressing OK I am getting and issue as

The remote server returned an error: (407) proxy authentication required.

I've tried to find out and resolve 2nd issue, but could not get anything as I cannot bypass proxy and so need everything to work with proxy connection.

Also, I started Azure emulator inside VM.(By default emulator 4.0 was installed, when tried to start, it was not starting and was targeting to some network location for installation media. So, I've downloaded and installed emulator 4.4 there, it started successfully.)

    Did you get access before?

Look at windows eventViewr for more information.

Trying it for the 1st time.

What event exactly should I check, because there is nothing related to access of AX in the windows logs?

There are some logs getting generated automatically and frequently.

In windows logs, some errors are related to management reporter 2012 services? On this error, 4 logs are also getting generated automatically?

    Hi Saddaf,

Try to work together with one of the security administrators in your company to fix issues related to proxy/firewalls.

If you can open some internet pages correctly within the VM, the connections to AX services online might be blocked.

    Thanks Andre,

Can you give some advise, for what AX services should I get firewall exception?

Or if open network is required for that?

Need to mention here, all the legitimate internet pages(google, Microsoft.com, msn, AX Cloud URL- https://***devaos.cloudax.dynamics.com  etc..) are working fine on hyper-v VM.

I have included this VM in organization domain also.

    Thanks!

    Hi Saddaf,

You have to work with your security administrators. They are able to see what traffic is blocked. I don't know what could be blocked as I have not used the VM within highly secured networks.

Saddaf, it's hard to tell what is going on from this post. You technically don't need internet connection to develop on the VHD.

    That's correct....

But if know it correctly, we need 1 time internet connectivity to authorize user with Admin provisioning tool...

    Hi Saddaf Khan,

Actually there is a "trick", technically you don't need to use Admin provisioning tool at all. You can run AX from Visual Studio and it will open AX using built-in Admin account. I have no idea how legit is it, but I think Robert Badawy can comment on this.

That is correct. If you don't run the Admin provisioning tool, you can use the default admin. When you use VS, we do "offline" authentication for this admin. But since we don't distribute the password for this default admin, you will always have to go through VS to open the AX client if you don't provision your own Admin.
