Updating Quote Product from Opportunity Product

Hi all

Just after some thoughts on how to update Quote from Opportunity.

I have an Opportunity Product that has greater than 75 custom fields that contain data for each product type that's unique to the individual Opportunity Product (item). I only want one source of truth for each item as if I pull all the fields through to Quote, Invoice products etc it's a lot of fields for really no benefit.

What are your thoughts on a way that when revising a quote to update each item from Opportunity Product to the quote.

I was thinking making some quote fields read only and using synchronous plugin on create of new quote were revision is greater than 0.

I will be creating projects for each Opportunity Product if Opportunity is won which is also a reason to have the Opportunity as source of truth rather than just updating the Quote Product lines.

Thoughts?

    Hi antc,

    Opportunity and Quote is 1:N relationship, Opportunity  and Opportunity Product is 1:N relationship, and Quote and Quote Product is 1:N relationship.

    So you can use power automate(https://us.flow.microsoft.com/en-us/) to create a flow, which can update Quote Product based on Opportunity Product automatically.
