Yammer Integration

Hi,

Does MS Dynamics CRM have the ability to sync with all private groups and external private networks? In our implementation, we might have several hundred private groups and/or networks and I want to be sure all can be pulled into CRM.

    Hi there,

    The Yammer integration with CRM only displays what the user has access to see.  The security is controlled by Yammer.  So if the user is a member of several private groups, these feeds will show on the feed for that user in CRM.

    Thanks Gretchen. A few follow-up questions:

    1 . My understanding is if there are multiple private external networks in yammer, an Admin does not have a single interface to view the incoming messages. In our setup, we are likely to have several hundred external networks (one for each sales rep). In this scenario, will the CRM integration with Yammer include all of these private Yammers?

    2. Is there a way to hook or tie a Yammer account to a CRM contact or account? If a sales rep sent in a Yammer for an order, how would the process work whereby that yammer could get associated with a contact/account and we could create an order from there?

    Hi there!

    It sounds like your requirements go beyond what the Yammer integration can do.  The following requirements CANNOT be met with the existing Yammer integration.

    1) Displaying posts on an external network in CRM

    2) Displaying all message from external networks on a single interface

    3) Tie a Yammer Account to a CRM Account/Contact (it is tied only to the user)

    4) Creating an order from a Yammer post

    You may want to consider creating a custom Yammer integration.
