Opening the canned CRM Dynamics Reports in SSRS

I got some great advice here on how I can load new reports I developed in SSRS into CRM Dynamics and it works great. thanks for that.

Here is another issue however, I'm trying to do the reverse. I'm tryiong to open up some of the canned reports in CRM dynamics and make slight modifications to them. I located the RDL files on the server and when I try to add exisiting item to my own independent project it gives me and error that cannot open database adventure_works_cycle_MSCRM requested by the login.

Perhaps there is another project I can open somewhere? I looked an couldnt find it, Instead of reinventing the wheel what I wanted to do was to get at the dataset, it would take me quite some time to normalize all the tables and data that I need to get matching up ID's with titles. Since the canned reports already do that, I was hoping to use the existing dataset some how.

Can someone offer any suggestions and a shortexplanation? I'm just learning SSRS and trying to learn as much as I can,  thanks very much.

    live4help,

    When you download the .rdl file from MSCRM:

    Download the Report From CRM:

    1. Workplace -> Reports

    2. Edit Report -> More Actions -> Download Report

    3. Add the report to your existing SSRS Report Project

    4. Change the Data Connection for the report you downloaded and change it so it uses the same connection as the reports you developed and uploaded to CRM.
