[AX2012 R3] Sales returns via mobile device

Dear all,

I'm trying to receive a sales return through the mobile device but I'm not able. I have location directive, work, mobile device menu items. I start the receiving process, enter RMA number, item nr and quantity. Click OK and nothing happened. I would appreciate if you send me a link to a guide for processing sales order returns in R3 or suggest me any settings I'm missing.

Hi Nesrin,

I can't find anything about the Sales Return flow in any of the Warehouse Management documentation I've seen.

I've just tried it in the demo data I have. I have a Mobile device menu item (Mode: Work, 'Use existing work' not ticked) with 'Return order receiving'.

Are you able to specify a 'Disposition code' on the mobile device? If you don't, I agree - it looks like nothing happens. You need to setup Disposition codes at Warehouse Management -> Setup -> Mobile device -> Disposition codes. And here, you need to associate them to your Return disposition codes.

Then, when I follow the steps you described (and when I enter a Disposition code), the mobile device reports 'Work completed', and I have an item sat in the Warehouse's default receipt location.

Also note that there are a lot of fixes in this specific area that were shipped as public hotfixes, I would suggest you pull those in before you continue your investigations

Ivan,

I see that there are a lot of bugfixes for R3 and I hope the CU8 will be released before January so we can start our project on it. Any idea about the release date of CU8?

Hi Nesrin,

For CU8, I think 'soon' is the answer. In this blog, you'll see 'November' written:

But at Convergence in Barcelona, a number of speakers referred to "a December release".

The best starting point I found is the resource page for Warehouse and Transportation Management:

I recommend the Warehouse management system implementation guide.

Depending on your status, you may be able to access useful training videos (e-Learning), but they are mostly behind a restricted log-in.

I don't think Microsoft will be doing instructor/student training guides (as you might be used to in the past).

Finally, there are several blogs which cover these topics. The most helpful in my opinion is blogs.msdn.com/.../dynamicsaxscm, but perhaps also keep an eye on this one kashperuk.blogspot.co.uk

Oh, and there are a number of useful posts on this very forum.

Dynamics78, I suggest you don't cross post the same question in all topics about return orders, especially those already marked as answered.

Instead, create a new topic with the description of your specific problem (as it is different from both this topic and the other ones you posted in), and add some screenshots and descriptions of your data configuration and the return order
