Error Installing vstools after applying update

After I applied an update to Dynamics AX 2012 to upgrade to Kernel Version 6.3.2000.4373

I got the bellow error when trying to install VStools

This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it.

    You mentioned both upgrade and installation, so it's not clear to me what you're doing.

    Are you upgrading Visual Studio tools? From which version? Are you on the right machine?

    Or are you installing them for the first time? How? With the update slipstreamed to installation files? Do you have Visual Studio 2013 installed? Which edition?

    Martin maybe I wasn't very clear in my question, allow me to explain. We had some issue with AX not cooping with the SQL cluster environment. After opening a case with Microsoft we were recommended to upgrade to Kernel Version 6.3.2000.4373 (KB Article Number (s) : 3098847), we had to unistall vstools for us to be able to update AX. After applying the update, we are trying to install vstool, however we are facing the bellow:

    Now I did some research and I fount out that vstools64.msi are not available in the installation package. Where can I find the file since, it is as well missing from the slipstream file provided to us by Microsoft. vstools64.msp for updating the vstools is available instead.

    Can you help us out?

    I'm pretty sure that AX can be installed from installation files, so you're probably doing something wrong. That's why we need to know "what" you're doing.

    We are trying to installing vstool from the Ax installation package, after I uninstalled them in order to be able to update. I am downloading CU8 now, I will extract the vstool64.msi from the splitstream package and place it under the msi installtion folder.

    Can you please tell us what you did before, so others can getting into the same trouble?

    I also still don't understand why you're extracting the individual packages instead of just using the installer as usual. Could you make it clearer, please? Maybe I'll learn something new, maybe we'll be able to suggest a better approach to you...

    Yes, you need to do the bellow:

    1- Download CU8 slipstream package, from Life Cycle services extract vstool64.msi and vstool32.msi files from the msi folder, copy them in you Dynamics AX msi installation folder.

    2- Run Dyanamics AX installation it should work fine, giving that you have Visual Studio 2013 installed and running. 

    3- If you updated Dynamics AX beyond CU8, make sure you run axupdate again and you should see the option to update your vstools.
