Preventing users belonging to certain TEAM(s) from resolving cases

Dear all

1. I need to restrict users belonging to certain TEAMs from resolving Cases, and prevent other users belonging to other TEAM(s) from reactivating certain types of cases, what is the easiest way for doing this?

2.what is the best Practice for laying out security roles , in terms of organizing them, any advises?

3.how i can allow user to add a free text description when he selects the cancellation reason upon cancelling the case?

    Hi,

    1.)  the easiest way , would be plugin or custom workflow.

    - you can create custom workflow or plugin, trigger whens status change and apply your logic in there.

    2.) You can refer below blog, it should give you some hints.

    3.) i) You can create a field called cancellation reason and a workflow that trigger on status change, if the status is cancellation, and the field is empty, throw some meaningful error to user. (easy to implement).

       ii) You can build you own custom button, that open a html and display the field and the cancellation reason. ( difficult)
