One of my pos systems crashed and had to be refromatted/reloaded from a RMS 2.0 backup. Now the merchant EDC info is missing. It was originally Citi when I set it up. Now the statements say it is First Data. I have two questions: 1. isn't the merchant d

One of my stores Pos (RMS 2.0) crashed and I had to do a full reformat and a fresh reload.  Once I got the system up I created a new database with the latest backup that  I had created with SOADMIN.  But, the creditcard EDC info is missing.  Originally I signed up with Citibank, which was sold to Chase and now to First DATA.  I can't find my original processor data. I have a few questions?

1.  Shouldn't the EDC data be reloaded with the backup?  If not is it retrievable somewhere else?

2.  All the posts state that FirstData does not work wth RMS 2.0.  So, I am assuming that First Data is using both the system from Citi and their own system.  What do I need to get from First Data?

3.  Does anyone know who I am supposed to contact at First Data for this info?  Originally Citibank had a specific number for RMS customers.

Thanks

Bill

    Bill,

The EDC settings are stored in the Registry of each machine.  That said, if you have another machine that is either the POS machine or one that can close the EDC batch in the same store, you can just copy the info from SO Admin | File | Configuration | EDC tab

If not, contact your processor and have them fill out the following sheet and enter the info in the above options.

My understanding is that EDC data is machine specific for security reason, which is why you can't just restore it from a backup.
