Hi

Does anyone know if there is differens in the production and the free non-production instance in crm online. I have imported the solution from production to non-production and in  non-production all the plugins is executing much faster than in production. For example  we have a plugin that creates 26 appointment. This takes about 1,5 minutes in production and only a few seconds in non-production. Thankfull for all answers,  Jan

I believe the non-production instances are in a different scale group to the production instance - but it is more likely to be an issue of database size I would have thought for this kind of difference.

Check the query operations you are performing in your plugins - ensure that you are only requesting the attributes and records you need.

Hi Jan, Can I go off topic here and ask what event messages did you use to create new data on solution import? I wish to do the same development plugin scripts to create data but am unsure which events to use.

    Thank you in advance...

    Hi Jan,

I can confirm that there are no differences between a CRM Online production instance and a none-production instance (Sandbox Instances) in regards to their performance and backend settings. I am providing you the link to the blog article “Introducing Sandbox Instances in CRM Online”, which talks you through the current design differences (e.g. the color of the navigation bar) and the planned functional differences between both. blogs.msdn.com/.../introducing-sandbox-instances-in-crm-online.aspx

To comment to Scott’s suggestion: as any other 2 different orgs, a production and its Sandbox instance are most probably located in different scale groups, however these would also have the same settings and capabilities.

If you have identified differences in the performance of both orgs while executing the same task, as in your case the execution of the same plugins, then these are expected to be in relation to data or customizations related differences.

If you find that you need further assistance on this, I would recommend you to benefit from the included into your CRM Online subscription Technical Support and open a Support Request with CRM Online Technical Support by the below steps:

    - Log in to the Web portal portal.microsoftonline.com with an Admin user

    - Go to Support > select “new support request”

    - Provide details about the issue you are experiencing and your contact details

    - Submit the Support Request

Please let us know if this helps.

Thank you for using Microsoft Dynamics CRM Communities.
