Autonumber field doesn't get filled

Hi all,

I created a field "ID" for autonumbering. However when creating a new record, the field doesn't get filled. What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks for your reply!

    I was investigating this further and found out that the field gets filled only after I save the record. So this is solved.

    Is this in Dynamics CRM? If yes, could you please tell which entity it is? 

    Is Auto-numbering feature enabled?
