How to setup BOGO Mix-n-Match discount that will work for multiple quantities (e.g. B3G1 that works for B6G2, B9G3 etc)?

Hi retail experts!

I want to setup a BOGO for Buy 3 Get 1 (Least expensive free) and allow this to apply to Buy6Get 2, Buy9Get3 and so on.
Is this possible in AX 2012 CU8 or any later versions?

I have tried to create separate mix and match discounts for each one but only the Buy 3 Get 1 will apply (i.e. if I buy 6 there is no free item).

I have tried using all the different concurrency modes on the discounts but no luck.

I have read about Pricing priorities in CU10 and wonder do I need this to achieve what I want to do (e.g. set Buy9 with highest priority, then Buy6 with next priority etc)?

Also I saw in a later CUs that there is a 'Multi occurrence mode' on the Least expensive discount setup (in my CU8 I do not have it) but I am not sure if this will solve my problem?

Hope someone can help.
Many thanks

    Thanks Steven!

Can you share a print screen of the Mix and Match setup for your discount please.

Also how did you enter the quantity for these lines in the POS, did you scan the item and then enter 2 for the Mesh BMX Gloves item or did you just scan the item 2 times? My users will typically not scan the item multiple times but rather scan once and then enter the quantity.

FYI my AX 2012 CU8 POS has customisations so I am first just trying to understand does standard AX work with multiple quantities for BOGO. If it does then I can focus on trying to find out what customisation has broken it for my system.

Thank you for your help and look forward to your further update

Hi, did you try to setup just 1 discount - Buy 3 get 1? POS should split quantities on lines to apply this discount as many times as possible

    Many thanks Oksana

You mean in AX 2012 CU8 you know this should work?

Below is the setup used (note the Currency field is hidden as it is always set as the base currency and the discount is Disabled status since we cannot get it to work):

I think I need to get my hands on a standard AX2012 CU8 version of the POS to test as my feeling is this function is not working in my system due to customizations.

If anyone can easily do a quick test in a standard AX 2012 CU8 that would be hugely appreciated , because I am not technical in the POS and so not sure how long it is going to take for me to get someone to install and setup such an environment to test.

    Many thanks

    James

    Hi James,

When you say 'Buy 3 get 1 free' - how many items should customer buy in total: 3 or 4?

Also can you show how your discount lines look like?

    Thank you

The customer needs to buy 4 items and then they will pay for the 3 most expensive and get the least expensive free.

    Similar for:
Buy 8 and pay for 6
Buy 12 and pay for 9
Buy 16 and pay for 12 etc

Here is the Lines section from the Mix and Match discount:

    Thank you

    Hi James,

    Your discount configuration looks correct.
I would recommend to find some AX2012 CU10 or higher - and test there. It can be a bug in CU8 that prevents discounts from working.

Below are some mix and match fixes I found in LCS - first one can be your issue

Thank you very much Oksana for your efforts!

I will try to test if changing the "Prices include sales tax" on the store solves the problem as well as explore the possibilities of upgrading to the latest AX 2012 CU13 for AX and the POS.

Thank you once again and will post back with any update
