Single Line Quote Discount

HI,

I want to give a single line discount on a sales quotation in Dynamics AX 2012 R2

However I get 2 Infologs; One that says negative quantities are not allowed, and the other says the Net Amount and the Quantity must be the same sign. These 2 rules prevent me from adding a discount line to a quotation.

discounts vary per customer or quote, and are normally a single line absolute value

Can you help discribe what I need to do to achieve this please ?

My ideal solution would be to add a line to the quote and just free-type a discount amount.

    Press "Add lines" and find the item and enter -1. It does not let you manually enter -1 but you can do it through the add lines functionality.

    Hi,

    Thank you for the suggestion, that did work and it definately takes us forward.

    Seems a bit odd that it works if you "Add lines" but not "Add line"

    It was simply how I tested it which is how I found the "part" solution. I believe they do not want you to enter in this manner, but it is what the sales order create credit note does for example, but I would guess they forgot to close this hole.

    I was very grateful, hence the "answer" tag.

    Our consultant has come back and said "its a mod" so its great to have this workaround in hand so maybe they will remove the negative restriction on the line entry for us.

    I liike the way AX adds "Negative" TAX !!, I think I can overcome that by making the line item TAX exempt
