You mentioned Finance and Operations in the title, but you're saying that you want to upgrade to AX 2012.

Does it mean that you want to upgrade to F&O and that AX 2012 is just a middle step?

Are you aware of the tool for data migration from AX 2009 to F&O?

Let me know your upgrade goal first.

    1. Are you want to upgrade code from AX 2009 to D365

    2. Do you want to upgrade data only master, Document, OB, parameters, setup, configuration  or transaction also.

There is no tool to upgrade code from AX 2009 to D365.. you have to upgrade first in AX 2012 and from there you can upgrade to D365.

For data, there is tool call DMT that can upgrade your all data from AX 2009 to D365 except transaction data.

There is no direct tool  for code upgrade. You can read my blog post about planning if you are trying to upgrade and available options.

Thanks Team for giving the valuable suggestions,  My requirement is upgrade from AX 2009 to AX 2012,  Actually we are using Lot of Form Customizations and ssrs reports on  Account Payable & Bank Modules for Finance & Operations in Ax 2009.

In between the versions [AX 2009 - AX 2012], is there any tool we are using?

how to move the forms customizations & SSRS Reports ?

when & where (Source & Target) we have to start the up-gradation?

Still I'm Stuck on gathering details.

Please guide me furtherely & provide the docs regrading this.

    Thanks,

    vinaykumar.

Moved to AX 2012 forum, tags updated, "Finance and Operations" removed from the title.

Look at Code Upgrade Resources in AX 2012 documentation.

Upgrading forms is not a huge problem, but you'll likely have to rework all reports.

Thanks Martin/Team, as per my understanding we need to configure the new server of required stuff along with AX 2012 valid licence.

Initially, we are taking the data from AX 2009.

By using tools, we need to import the data to Ax 2012.

if done the import, then we have all the data.

    Am I Correct?

    Thanks,

    Vinaykumar.

Yes, you can't upgrade to AX 2012 without having an AX 2012 environment.

But you must do the code upgrade before data upgrade. For example, if you've added a custom field to AX 2009, it doesn't exist in AX 2012 (until you upgrade your application) and therefore you can't fill it with data from AX 2009.

Yes, if you follow the data upgrade process correctly, all data will be upgraded.
