Any ideas how you assign a till to a register number. The database already contains till 1 but the till is logged on as till 3. I would like to assign this till to be number 1

    RE: pos 2009 register number

    Hello SISMITH1,

Thank you for your question. I have included information below found in the POS 2009 Help Files on how to change register properties. You can change the register number to any number that you want.

BarryCarlyon is correct about changing the register number if you are using RMS 2.0.

Each computer in your store that has Microsoft Dynamics POS installed is a register. You can change the settings for each register. These settings include the register number and description, audio settings, and hardware devices being used at the register.

Register 1 is usually your store's main computer and the location of your store database. It may not actually be used to process transactions, but it is considered a register anyway.

    Note

Depending on your employee role settings, you might not be able to change register properties.

During a transaction, do not unplug a POS hardware device and then plug it in again. This will cause errors in the transaction.

1 Press F7 (Tools), and then press 7 (System).

    2 Press Ctrl+2 (Register Properties).

3 Change the settings you want.

    Thanks,

    Nicole

To assign the Till to a different register.

    Close POS on that machine.

Open on that machine, Store Operations Administrator

    Then go File -> Configuration.

On the Register Tab you can choose which register number that computer logs on as.

Change the number to 1 (in this case).

    Hit Ok.

    Close administrator.

    Open POS.

Should now be connected as Register 1.
