How can I correct fiscal periods through the SQL scripts?

Posted on by 215

This question is being reposted as I am having the same problem that was asked about in the following 2012 thread. <http://community.dynamics.com/gp/f/32/t/72173.aspx>

Background to problem:

When trying to set up a new fiscal period through the Fiscal Periods Setup window, the year entered immediately populates first day and last day dates one year in the future. For example, 2015 populated a date range of 1/1/16 to 12/31/16. For our purposes, we need 1/1/15 to 12/31/15.

How does one run the SQL scripts and what SQL codes do I need to enter to get the needed date ranges for the fiscal year?

SarahB, have you been able to resolve this matter to your satisfaction?

If so, you should either mark one of the answers as a solution, or provide the solution you used to get to your solution and close the case.

    Hi Sarah,

When you fix the fiscal period using PSTL it will remove all the fiscal periods, so please take a back up first.  After fiscal period removed re-create them again and run reconcile against financial from oldest year to current year and all should be just fine.

Mahmoud is absolutly correct, there is no good way to do this other than in the PSTL.

I know others have tried other solutions and I am pretty sure they all fail.

PSTL is the only, best answer.

Be sure as always, do a good solid backup first.

Don't consider SQL scripts for that, use the PSTL Fiscal Period modifier tool provided on the professional services tools library

Here is a references on how to use it Fiscal Year Modifier
