Problem:

Windows wants to install important updates to RU13 and attempts to do so EVERY time I shut down. I have manually downloaded and attempted the install and it won't install. The same error

"Cannot load Counter Name data because an invalid index was read from the registry."

I have RU13 and have heard this update fixes some of the issues that drive me nuts.

Environment:

W7, 64bit box, 32bit office, Dynamics CRM online.

Anyone else having this issue?

Yes.

There are two ways to get the update and I have attempted both. One is to download and install the file you questioned. The other is to go into Windows Updates, find the individual files it is attempting to install, manually download, and then install. I have done both and they get the same error.

I have also unchecked the CRM updates and then ran the critical updates to make sure the system is current. Did a reboot and attempted the updates. Same error.
