How do we install SL 2011 Installation on WIndows 8.1 Client as it gives error on mapped drive

Can you post the exact error message that you are getting. Cos i didn't get any errors while installing SL 2011 in a client machine.

I am running into the same problem. Has anyone been able to get this to work?
I do not know if this will help or not but there was what sounds like a similar problem with Windows 7 and the client where it looks at a mapped drive as a UNC path. I got around that issue by copying the wrkstn folder to the local drive C on the workstation and running setup.exe from there. You will get an error stating that the installed client may install but not operate correctly but I never have had an issue doing it this way. It cannot hurt to try.
I figured it out. I had to apply the below fix.
So, just open regedit and locate this key.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
In the right pane look for EnableLUA and modify its value to 0. Close regedit.
Done.
