Dear Business Central experts,We would like to access our Business Central data using the API and access these data using application credentials. Now this article...https://community.dynamics.com/365/b/ocp/archive/2018/10/24/accessing-business-central-data ...suggests that here are just two methods:- Basis Authentication - it seems to allow application credentials- AAD authentication - it seems to allow only user credentials for BCHowever the Developer and IT help manual states quite clearly that basic authentication should not be used in production.https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/business-central/dev-itpro/developer/devenv-develop-connect-apps Should we conclude that currently there is no safe way for accessing our business central data using application credentials? If no, can you point me to an article that explains how to do it?A third manual that we consulted already:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/active-directory/develop/sample-v1-code (It confirms the picture that Microsoft-owned multi-instance apps like Microsoft Graph can only be accessed with credentials of a logged in human user)With best regards,Wolter Kaper
That's cool!
The docs do need an update, they state it's not OK (probably having some use case in mind that is not ours).
You can use Basic auth in production, it's just your choice if using AAD or Basic authentication.
Is this confirmed by microsoft somewhere?
