Account string incomplete on GL Trial balance

Posted on by 105
I have a customer who is experiencing the following issue: Their account structure is XXX-XXXX. All transactions post without any problem, smartlists are working fine. When they print a GL Trial Balance (summary or detail), the account string prints XX-XX only, and the missing values are the first 2 characters of the second segment. We've removed permissions to the modified version of the TB, but even the standard GP Trial Balance prints this way. I suspect this is a corrupt dictionary, but it is happening on multiple workstations. Has anyone seen this before and how was it resolved?

    Are they using alpha account numbers? Did it ever work?

    1) Export all customization (GP-->customization-->select package--Export)

    2) Exit from GP.

    3) Rename Forms.dic and Report.dic

    4)Login to GP as 'sa'

    5) Go to GP-->Tool-->Reportwriter..click on any report to modify and save.

    6) Import all your package into GP

    you will find new Report.dic and form.dic is creatred at GP installation folder.

    Now you can modify your existing GL TB report and see if it gives desire result.

    Hi there,

    I have not seen this issue before.

     But if your client has shared dictionaries, i would expect the same result across the board. If they are all using local dictionaries then its quite strange - can any machine on their site print a "good" report?

    You could try recreating the reports dictionary, on one client machine to eliminate the corrupted report theory. Take a package of the customised modified reports and windows , and then rename the reports.dic that they are pointing to in their .set file. Re-launch GP and try again. Does that work? If so, then import the package again, grant access to modified TB and try again.

     Thanks

    Mark
