Migrate marketing elements through the DTAP

I was wondering if it is possible to migrate elements in the D365 for Marketing app from one instance to the other within the DTAP. For example, I have created a customer journey in my acceptance environment and would like to make it available in my production environment, of which I'm sure it has the same datamodel as my acceptance environment. The same counts for marketing forms, pages, email templates etc. Is there a way to export/import this kind of elements (just like with customizations) or will it be a manual job?

    Hi,

I am looking for something similar.

How to migrate various elements of marketing, like email/mobile templates, customer segmentation etc trough a DTAP pipeline.

    Is this available now?

    Cheers

    Hi Coen,

There isn't anything formal yet, but we are working on this issue and will update the online documentation when more information is available.  For now, please do just open a ticket with customer support to get the relevant schema and use the Configuration Migration tool.

    Thanks,

    Megan

Hi Megan, has there been progress on this topic and has the procedure been formally documented in the mean time? I could not find anything yet about this in the online documentation. It would really help and save us a lot of time if we are able to easily migrate marketing content from one environment to another. Thanks!

Depends on your setup.  We are currently working to get this formally documented but I can provide you with some information now.  You will need to download the Configuration Migration Utility tool which you can use to import/export data.  The documentation for the tool will also explain how to use it. The tricky thing about Marketing is that you have to have the exact schema to match the version of Marketing that you are running.  For now you need to reach out to engineering through support to request the correct schemas.  They can also provide you with some interim documentation on the process.  Customizations aren't covered yet in the interim document (but will be) but we know it will be a manual process to update the schema to match your configuration.  You can also do an export of your journeys, etc. using Excel within the Marketing app by exporting them and then changing the file to a .csv and importing them back into your new environment. I hope this helps!
