EDMX and other API-related docs just for on-prem?

I am about to start seriously integrating Business Central (Online) to other systems via APIs, but have found that other than Web Services the docs appear to be primarily for on-prem. This includes the documentation for enabling APIs via the Business Central Administration Tool and the creation of the EDMX documents for building out the fields needed in the JSON call body.

Can anyone point to a better set of documentation for the BC online?

    Hello,

    We have the main documentation for API here:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../

    Including a list of endpoints.

    And go here to view and request new extensions and endpoints: github.com/.../

    and also follow and suggest new endpoints on https://aka.ms/BCIdeas.

    I hope these links help you. If yo can, then stick to APIs and avoid EDMX if you can, I think API is a simpler way to integrate. But of course I don't know what specifications you need to achieve.

    Thanks for the response.

    The issue I'm having is that even in this list of docs, the "enable API" doc appears to be for on-premise (because online would not have any install files.)

    1. Open Dynamics 365 Business Central Administration tool. in step 1,  This tool is not the Admin panel from Settings

    Obviously there is somewhere else that I need to activate the APIs for use in my instance.
