Hi all, I want certain developers to have permission to download symbols but not install/uninstall extensions. Is there a permission set which satisfies this requirement?
You can download symbols regularly, and then upload them to the shared folder, and developers manually go to the shared folder to download the latest symbols, so that there is no need to connect to the environment.
But as the two experts mentioned above, this is not a good practice, developers can't even debug. . . .
I am not sure how that requirement can be possible in any system let alone BC. Having that as an expected behavior from BC may not be fair too. It is important to understand that symbols are nothing but reference to base libraries. If someone can download base libraries, he/she basically has access to doing a lot of activities in the system. So naturally that person will have access to install/uninstall an extension. Download the symbols and share it with the developers, symbols don't change often anyways so you're saved
Don't think there is a way to do that. Having permission to download means you can uninstall / install extensions.
One way to do this is to download the symbols yourself and then give it to your developer.
