Are you sure you are talking about contract?? not contact ? because there is no out of the box feature to convert lead to contract, have you built something custom if yes, share more details.
And if you are talking about contact then you can use leadsourcecode to know about the leadsource or can do custom development, where you can set your custom lookup for lead entity with source lead.
