LogisticsAddressState table is behaving differently in Test/Dev & Prod

I am facing an issue related to StateId creation in the LogisticsAddressState table. In the Dev and Test environments, I am able to create a State with a length greater than 10 characters. However, in Prod, Stage, and one Dev environment (which mirrors Prod in terms of code and database—we use this DevBox to debug Prod-reported issues), I am unable to create a State with a length greater than 10 characters.

Since LogisticsAddressState is an OOTB table and the StateId field has a string size of 10 characters, how is it possible that I can successfully create a State with even 15 characters in Test, but not in Prod?

I could not find any extension of the EDT in the Prod or Dev code. Could this be controlled by a front-end setup or configuration? Or am I missing something?

On the Prod-mirrored Dev instance, I cannot type more than 10 characters. This limitation is not only on the front end—I also cannot insert more than 10 characters directly into the database through SQL or via an integration API call. It simply does not allow me to create beyond the defined limit.

Prod/Stage:

On the Dev environment that is identical to Test, I am able to create a state with a length greater than 10 characters using all options—through the database, front end, and APIs.

Dev/Test:

I checked again, there was a parent EDT that of the edt used on the field and it was customized to upto 50 char, the changes were present in Test but missing in the Prod. Version of the platforms was not the issue here, thanks for the support.

I have checked it again in the standard system. The default length of this field is 10 characters. It is a field that exists in a table named LogisticsAddressState. The field name is StateId, and on the UI, its label is displayed as 'State.'

If you can enter more than 10 characters in the State field, that indicates a customization.

If you're able to enter 15 characters in Prod, I can think of a few possibilities. The first one that comes to mind is that your test system has customizations extending the field from 10 to 15 characters, and that customization hasn't been applied to your Prod system yet.

You can check the deployment history for the test machine.

Is your test system hosted on LCS, or is it based on Power Platform?

I tried to replicate this in Sandbox and DEV but couldn’t. You also confirmed that code and DB are same as PROD.

Possible please check if there’s any version difference between PROD and DEV.

If you have ISV package/customization installed which is different in DEV and PROD this could also be the reason.

Also try to clean custom package from DEV try to re-add them. Your Dev Box may not able to fetch PROD code.

    Thanks for replying.
Can you please highlight the difference? I can't see any difference between your provided image and mine in terms of any customizations. They are looking the same.

I do not see the see the same view with a standard system (no customizations) and with the latest updates. Could you check if this is customized system ?
