How to display Multiline Text field with line breaks in Word Document using MS CRM word Document Templates

Posted on by 95

We are generating Word documents Programmatically using Word Templates in CRM.

Requirement : Display Multiple line text field data in document templates with bullets points or line breaks same as entered by user.

Issue : In entity we have multiple line text fields where user enters data as paragraph or with bullet points (refer screen shot).

In Document template we have mapped this field to display data in Word document, but this data in coming in single line instead of different lines with bullets points.

    Hi Sneha,

To display multi line text on a Word Template, you need to go into the Developer Tab > Select the Plain Text field you would like to become multi-lined, then click Properties.

There is an option "Allow carriage returns(multiple paragraphs)"

The only limitation I found is with bulleted lists, if the text continues to a second line, the following lines don't indent as expected.
