white-list IP to access virtual machines through Microsoft Remote Desktop

Hi,

I am accessing the Virtual Machine through Remote Desktop in my office. It is working fine,

Whether I can connect the Virtual Machine in my home which uses Broad band connection. WAN IP's get changed every time when I restart my modem.

I configured my LAN IP (192.168.1.1) in firewall rules (LCS > Maintain > Access) which is not working.

Whether Microsoft expect Static IP to be configured in firewall rules? How to make it work in Home environment which does not have static IP.

Regards,

Manivannan

Your LAN IP 192.168.1.1 is your IP in your internal home network. That's not the address where your request comes from. The request comes from your public IP.

    You can either:

    - Get a static IP

    - Configure the firewall setup (in LCS) every time you restart your modem

    - Use VPN to connect from your home network to your work network, and then initiate the RDP connection. This way the connection comes from your work IP

    Hi Manivannan,

The access rule can be a single IP address or a range of IP addresses.

However, the IP address range must be limited to the customer's corpnet, and if a computer outside the customer's corpnet is used, the specific IP address of the computer used for the connection must be added.

So you can try the VPN method recommended by Nikolaos.
