Does payroll batches post by check or posting date, we have a payroll we are doing 3-30-11 with a check date of 4-6-11 and we wnat this to be in 2nd qtr if we use posting date as of march 30 2011 and a check date of 4-6-11 will this post to 2nd qtr being check date is 4-611?

The 'Posting Date' refers to the date the transaction hits the general ledger. The payroll transaction date (here the check date) is the date it is considered for the 941. Therefore, for Tax purposes the check falls in the second quarter. For book purposes, it hits the GL in the first quarter.
