How to set a system dashboard as my default...

Posted on by 2,645

I have a system dashboard that I want to set as my default just for me.  Instead of seeing all active clients system dashboard, I want to see XYZ system dashboard as my default now.  How can I do this?  I don't see the set as default button in the menu bar.

    Hi,

If you select  "SET AS DEFAULT" on the dashboard directly or if you select the dashboard from you personal option then these changes will be just for you.

If you change it through settings >> customization, then this will be applicable to all.

Refer the link I shared in my post above if " "SET AS DEFAULT" is not appearing for you.

    Hope this helps.

If you go to Customizations -> Customize My System -> Dashboards, then yes. That will set up the system setting for everyone.

If you want to set your personal dashboard, go to options, and in the General Tab, under where it says selected you home page and settings for Get Started Panes, select the Default Pane and for the Default Tab select Dashboards.

This will allow you to have the Set As Default button on your dashboards.

Wouldn't this change affect everyone and not just me?

If I do this, wouldn't this be set for everyone?  I want it just for me.

RE: How to set a system dashboard as my default...

I tried this, but what happens is when I go into our CRM Production site now when the site opens, it brings me right to this dashboard, when it fact I want it to show up only when I go to a certain entity and then click on Dashboard.  When I open up CRM 2016 currently in my production environment, I have it set to Workplace -  Dashboards.  I want to keep this.  My question is when I go to another entity and go to Dashboards, I want to change the dashboard default just for that entity and just for me to a different system dashboard and keep it as my default just for that entity.  Can that be done?

    Hi,

You can set the default dashboard by setting "SET AS DEFAULT".

You can go through the below article if you don't see 'Set AS DEFAULT' button-

    1. Go to Personal Configuration ->Options located in the right top corner.

    2. On the first option of General tab, select the Home page Area and Sub Area (Dashboards)

    3. Save changes

    4. On the Dashboards Sub Area, "Set As Default" the Dashboard you want to see always you access.

    Hope it helps

Go to your solution file (Customizations -> Solutions) or your default solution (Customizations -> Customize the System). Inside the solution, go to dashboards. Select the dashboard that you want to make default, and click on Set As Default.
