some documents in this batch could not be deleted

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

I get this message when trying to delete a batch that had a voided quote in it.

The voided quote is still in transacation entry and when i try to bring it up it states the quote has been voided and cannot be edited.

Not sure what happend here but there is only 1 transaction in the batch i want to delete and it won't let me delete it because the voided quote is still there.

The quote is still in sop10100 and has never been printed

This looks like an old post, but still...

Check how the document type is configured. Does it allow editing after printing? If not, then try to use this:

    SELECT TIMESPRT, *

    FROM SOP10100

    WHERE BACHNUMB = 'TEST'

Replace 'TEST' with your batch name. If the value in the first field is other then 0 then use this:

    UPDATE SOP10100

    SET TIMESPRT = 0

WHERE BACHNUMB = 'Your batch ID'

Try to delete the batch now. Here is a link to the whole article:

    Leslie,

Did you get a confirmation which of your solutions fixed Larry's issue?  I'm having a similar issue but am gun shy on doing Remove Completed Documents.  The invoice is showing in history and as unposted but I can't open the unposted invoice.  Basically what happened was that the invoice was open while another user was posting the batch. Check links did not fix the issue.

    Hi Larry,

First, try running check links on Sales Work. Also try Reconcile - Remove Completed Documents. Look in the Sales Inquiry and see if that document is in both the Work and History tables. If all else fails, we can delete it using SQL. Try the other stuff first. If you delete it from the SOP10100 and SOP10200, and then run check links on the Sales Work. You should be able to delete the batch now.

    Kind regards,

    Leslie

we have void documents for quotes not delete.  we are not trying to delete the quote, we voided it but it seems to be stuck and never completed moved to voided tables and never removed from the open tables.

Review your document setting in Sales Order set-up to ensure you have the option checked to allow deletes.
