We've recently deployed MR with Access Runtime, and all is well with that. However, we've purchased and downloaded Excel 2016 standalone for installation on the MR server. During installation of Excel, we get an error message about there being an installation conflict between the Access Runtime and Excel. This conflict is a well-known issue, and we've just gotten off the phone with Microsoft Level 2 support. They say the resolution is to uninstall Access Runtime, install Excel, then re-install Access Runtime.
This would seem to present a couple of problems:
1. If we uninstall Access Runtime, then install Excel, then we might be unable to re-install Access Runtime, or
2. Simply uninstalling Access Runtime and re-installing might cause havoc with Management Reporter.
Has anyone faced this similar problem? Got a solution?
Thanks!

I have the same question (0)There should be no problems with re-installing the Access Runtime.
The main issue that is normally seen in that the Access Runtime that MR uses need to be 64-bit to match the OS of the server.
The conflict is normally that the Access Runtime, that MR uses, need to be 64-bit to match the OS of the server. This means that other Office apps need to also be 64-bit to match the Access Runtime version.
Verify that the Access Runtime and the Excel 2016 standalone install are both 64bit installs and life will be good.
