Help with updating contacts via a spreadsheet while ignoring any new records in sheet

Hello,

I have a csv with records that I want to import into CRM to have it update existing records with new data. However, there are also contacts on this list that are not in my CRM and I do not want CRM to generate any new contacts records for. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks for any help/advice.

-Michelle

I can think of 3 options:

    1) Manually remove the records you don't want to add to CRM from the document and then import it into CRM with the built in import tool.

    2) Use SCRIBE Online to connect to the excel document and CRM.  Then on each row of the document it would look up a record in CRM.  If no record found in CRM it skips the row, otherwise it does an update to the record it finds.

    3) USE CRM SDK to create an import console application to fit your needs.
