OLE Notes Attachments in GP Missing After Upgrade

(0) ShareShare

Customer just recently upgraded from GP 10 to GP 2010.  They are unable to see their OLE note attachments from before the upgrade.  If they drill back on a posted trx, they can see the Note ID is marked and then when they open it, it says there is a link present but if you click on the paper clip, there is not attachment.

I see that the OLE Notes path is pointing to the C: drive on the server and the Notes folder only contains recent information.

How do we get the old attachments that existed before the upgrade back?

Thanks,

Nancy

    If you know where you previously had your ole notes (usually in a shared directory so that all users could see).  You can repoint back to the file and bring in any new notes.  When you upgraded you will find that they are probably sitting here now:

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2010\Data\Notes

    You can change where the notes go to by going to your dex.ini file and changing the following:

    OLEPath=D:\Data\GPShare\2010\OLE Notes\

    or wherever the share is.

    all of the notes are done by company.  You can take the previous notes that are now sitting in the c:\Drive and bring them all over to the shared path.

    Pretty eash to clean up, just have to find the shared path to your old notes...

    Thanks Sue.  We were able to find Notes folder that had the information prior to upgrade.
