    Hi,

Please find answer below of each point,

    1. Currently, it is not restricting or matching the license assigned and roles assigned to user in D365. Usually Microsoft compliance team can randomly check that and contact the customer or partner of the customer to be compliant.

    2. User can continue working on D365 if the license assigned is lower.

    3. If custom security role contains any of the access points which falls under SCM or Finance feature, the user is supposed to be licensed under that, but as i mentioned in point 1 it is not restricted and Microsoft can randomly check and inform customer if you are going out of compliance.

you can generated license estimator report in D365 and check users on which license should be assigned to user.

    Hi Mohammad,

Like Syed Zeeshan mentioned, there is currently no active license enforcement for Azure AD users. In addition, Microsoft might implement this in the future, like they have in place with e.g. Office365 licenses.

    Hi Andre,

may you please guide me how the on-premises license for users is implemented, it is by server or by user? and for dual license as well if a customer bought 20 dual license, how many users are eligible for on-premises.

also we have a client that has not paid the subscription for a year, is it our duty or Microsoft to stop the access? and if it is our duty how could we stop the access?

    Thank you,

    Hi Mohammad,

You can download a specific Licensing guide for on-premise using this link: assetsprod.microsoft.com/.../dynamics-operations-on-premises.pdf

I'm not sure what exactly you mean with a "dual license". Can you clarify that?

Apart from knowing that the licensing is different for on-premise compared to cloud subscriptions, I don't have experience with on-premise licenses. Also I don't have experience with a scenario with a client not paying a subscription. You can probably reach out to your locla Microsoft office with this question.
