An organization can create how many total number of category hierarchies in ax 2012 ?

This may not be relevant for you, but just for the record....
There is only one 'Retail Product Hierarchy' in AX but there can be multiple 'Supplemental Navigation Hierarchy' records that you can configure. Supplemental hierarchies can be attached to your store POS through the 'Channel categories and product attributes' form. The user can select the appropriate channel and change the 'Category hierarchy' field to the hierarchy of their choice.

Hi,
There is no limit for creating category hierarchies in Dynamics AX.
The only limitation is at setting category types to hierarchies.
