How do I select different COA in the Ledger setup - Account Structure?

Hi All,

I have a new version of Chart of accounts. How do edit this field to replace a new COA in this Ledger setup? This field in yellow is greyed out. Thanks so much

GL>Ledger setup>Ledger.

Hi,

Once used, you can not change the COA.

Hi Just like BillurSamdancioglu said, you cannot change chart of accounts in a company once you have posted transactions.

Would please state the difference between the two COA maybe we could help with a work around.

Thanks, Komi, for your response. We have a new account structure. After putting the old account structure to "Draft" status, I tried to add the new account structure to Ledger, but it wouldn't accept due to overlaps of accounts and project code. Looks like it conflicts with the Main Account in the new account structure with the old account structure. So I was thinking to create a new COA as a new name but use the exact COA so that I can link/add the ledger to the new account structure. This didn't work either due to the greyed-out field in the previous screenshot

Hi,

Change your old account structure account code and put may be an x infront of the account.

Hi Kim,

Can you remove old accounts structure and add new one in ledger setup. If you need both then make sure that there will not be any duplicate main accounts between these accounts structures. Example if you have main account 110110, if you added this account to account structure 1, it should not be part of accounts structure 2,3 etc.
