How do we add an opening balance to a new bank account opend in Dynamics AX

Can any please suggest How to add an opening balance to a NEW bank account opend in Dynamics AX

    Hi,

    You can use a general journal to post an opening balance. In case an amount from an existing bank account will be transferred to this new account, you can enter two lines or set an offset account on one line.

    The entry depends on how the amount will be transferred to the bank account. Can you tell us if it comes from another bank account, a customer/vendor, or was done with cash?

    Thank you for your reply. This account exits for ages but business has not added in AX. We are trying to add in AX with current bank balance as Opening balance.

    Thanks for the additional information. In case you added the bank account, was there an existing ledger account having the balance for this bank account? You can post an amount on the new bank account, but it needs to have an offset account as well if you are using a journal. There is no other option to get an opening balance on the bank account without posting a journal. I can't help you decide what offset account to use.
