My requirement is I create a record in entity A and as I save the record the pdf should be generated. There are few conditions what to get in PDF but as of now I just need a plain PDF or in simple case word document.

Can this be done? Any Idea

I have been using documents core pack for the past couple of years to achieve an export to PDF. it might meet your requirements www.mscrm-addons.com/.../DocumentsCorePack.aspx

    Hi,

You can also try to use PDFsharp: pdfsharp.codeplex.com/releases

    www.pdfsharp.net/.../PDFsharpSamples.ashx

Apart from that you could also render report to pdf, if possible in your requirement.

    Thanks

just an update to the question on creating a PDF.

I am using SSRS method and generating a complex query to fetch the data. I am somewhat successful in creating it,but my work is still in progress. As of now SSRS using xml or SQL looks a feasible solution. However I did not much tried with 3rd party assembly.

Before you develop your own solution I would highly recommend you look at www.mscrm-addons.com/.../DocumentsCorePack.aspx (as recommended by WiseyUK above!)

It is a very flexible solution.

If you are using Dynamics CRM OnPrem then I would use the SSRS technique before writing code to generate a pdf.

Only use custom code to generate pdfs as your last option.
