Receiving Transactions stuck in UN-POSTED & POSTED

Dear 

We faced an issue with a receiving, after Receiving the PO (which contained 2 items) , and for some unknown reason we could still see the Receiving in the un-posted and it showed as it the receiving was posted already. 

If you check SQL you could see that the Receiving was still in the UN-POSTED Transactions and in the POSTED as well. to rectify this we tried to deleted the un-posted transaction from SQL. 

but we still had another issue which is that in the posted receiving transaction , one of the items was Missing but the Total of the receiving was correct (Matching the PO) (one item is posted and the other is still Un-posted)

is there a way we can rectify this mess? is there a straight forward way to delete the whole thing in SQL and redo the Receiving. 

BTW - Check links didn't fix anything. i was hoping that check links would remove the headers that were incomplete.

    Yup. I guess that too. Like Mahmoud suggested, you probably need to talk to your partner and check if they could help you on cleaning the records at the backend.

    Apparently, the records are severely damaged or corrupted. I would personally move on and consider the SQL correction method, before providing any suggestion, have you discussed this with your partner ? Do you have an intellectual DBA to provide some guidelines for to follow ?

    In my opinion, this method is not the optimal, but it is the required one in such cases.

    Viady is definitely true

    There are very similar cases in which a posting corruption occurs and neither the check links nor the reconcile will do a tiny thing about. It is simply because the records and their logical relations might not be properly stored.

    The reversing entries is definitely your best solution

    I'd do following, in this case:

    1. Check stock for the items entered on that PO. If it is increased by same quantity for all items, then your inventory is affected properly. If not, you should be deleting the POSTED entries not the UN-POSTED ones.

    2. Check item transaction history for all PO items and see if this GRN is listed. If so, GRN posting has affected the inventory without any issues.

    3. Worst case scenario, I would try to revert the complete mess by passing a Return w/Credit, take the stock out for all affected products and then start off with a fresh PO/GRN. This way, you need not worry about removing or touching SQL tables without messing the system knowingly or unknowingly.
