Unable to install Marketing in a Sandbox environment

Hi,

I have a customer who has Dynamics Marketing installed in Production but they also have a Sandbox environment. We went to install Marketing in the Sandbox but receive a generic error at the end of the install that there was a problem with the installation. To install, we are going into admin.powerplatform.com, choosing the Sandbox environment and then Dynamics 365 Apps under the Resources area. It shows a "Not Configured" Dynamics Marketing app in the list which is what we tried to install. After the failure we tried installing the "Solution Only" one but that didn't work either. It is possible to install Dynamics Marketing for more than one environment isn't it? I'm pretty sure we should at least be able to install the "Solution Only" version but that won't even work. I'm not sure where we're going wrong unless we shouldn't have tried to install the full version for the Sandbox org.

    Thanks! This actually ended up being a permissions issue. The user we were using for the install didn't have azure permissions.

    Hi,

    You can only install your paid marketing app in one CRM envt. I just bought 10K contacts, i installed my paid marketing app on my PROD CRM envt. I cannot install it also on Sandbox. I have to buy additional Marketin app,  just to install it on CRM Sandbox.

    Or if your are using also a Marketing trial, you cannot install it on CRM Sandbox. But you can install it on CRM trial, according Microsoft support.

    Installation is quite frustraring, as we cannot use paid Marketing app on both PROD and Sandbox. I've spent one week with Microsoft just to understand basic installation features.

    Hi,

    If the customer has only one license for Marketing and has installed Marketing in a production environment, it is necessary to uninstall it from the production environment to free up the license. (Navigate to Marketing Application configuration -> Select Environment and click uninstall - Uninstall Dynamics 365 Marketing (Dynamics 365 Marketing) | Microsoft Docs)
