NAV 2017 best practices analyzer

Hi all,

I'm new to Nav and am wondering if you could point me in the right direction please?

I have a NAV 2017 Cu14 setup with approx. 140 users that is experiencing random freezes / lockups.    Is their a Best Practices Analyzer tool I can use to check the end-to-end NAV setup for any improvements I can make on the system?  Any tools for checking the performance (NAV tiers and SQL backend)?

Thanks in advance.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello,

Related to your follow up question, I will leave that up to the consultants to discuss what is best to do here. E.g.:

    www.dynamicsnavconsultant.com/.../

Others may have different opinions and you should decide what is best for your company after reading all opinions. The above is just one I found.

I am unaware of a BPA tool that is current and up to date for that purpose.

    Thanks.

    Hi Marco,

Yeah, its an older version.  This is mainly due to the amount of deep customisations that have been applied to it and the amount of testing needed along with possible code roll backs (on our custom features) if we were to upgrade to CU53.

I have run the basic BPA against the 3 2016 std servers which have listed some minor tweaks to make.  I was looking for a NAV specific BPA tool if MS have one.

On a side point, is a NAV DB file size of 600+GB considered overly large?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

Currently we released cumulative update 53 for Dynamics NAV 2017. Is there any reason why your customer or your business wants to keep running with a very old Dynamics NAV release. The issue you encounter may have been resolved already in a future cumulative update.

    Here is the link:

    Thanks.
